On first boot, press Start to initialize backup memory. At the title, press Start, then C to confirm Game Start and New Game. C advances dialogue; use the directional pad to move.

Connect a standard gamepad to play with a controller. Use the player's control settings to remap inputs. Pause before switching tabs.
